At My First Moth we are all pretty damn excited about 2012 as we’ve got some big releases in the pipeline including an album from Blu Rum 13 and Frameworks who are new to the label, and more new signings in the shape of Plato (aka Pitch & Bedos) and WhoAmI & Trebor. A few members of the My First Moth camp have been doing a bit of moonlighting recently, and touting out their remix skills to a few other artists! First up, Neko Neko has remixed 2 tracks for the Second Shift EP by The Electronic Exchange, released digitally through Concrete Moniker records. The EP is available from all the usual stockists (iTunes, Amazon, Emusic etc.) or direct from Concrete Moniker here. DJ Mischief has also produced a remix for London funk outfit Jono and the Dogs which has featured on their self-titled album alongside remixes from the likes of Capes and Loose Fit. You can buy the album as a CD or download from all the usual online shops, however we recommend you go here where you can get a free download of all album tracks when you buy the CD.
27th September 2011...
Neko Neko has been a very busy man of late! Not only has he been working on an album and remix 12” for My First Moth (more about them soon!), he’s also just completed a little side project, the Reader’s Digest Beat Tape. The 17-track album is an exercise in creative sampling where he has imposed certain limitations to the project, the main one being that the majority of sounds and samples have to be sourced from a god-awful Reader’s Digest box set he discovered on a crate-digging trip some time ago. We thoroughly recommend you get yourselves to Neko Neko’s bandcamp page here where you can grab yourself a copy!
